In other words: how can the thermodynamic energy released during the expansion of compressed CO\u2082 be harnessed to improve the quality and energy efficiency of the purification process? <\/p>\n<p>Cette question est centrale pour WasteOlas, dont la technologie \u2014 d\u00e9j\u00e0 d\u00e9ploy\u00e9e en projet pilote \u00e0 la <a data-link-card=\"true\" href=\"https:\/\/docteurgabs.ch\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Brasserie Docteur Gab&#8217;s <\/a>\u00e0 Puidoux (VD) \u2014 capture le CO\u2082 issu de la fermentation de la bi\u00e8re afin de le r\u00e9injecter dans le processus de production. L&#8217;optimisation de l&#8217;\u00e9tape de purification repr\u00e9sente un levier cl\u00e9 pour am\u00e9liorer \u00e0 la fois la qualit\u00e9 du CO\u2082 recycl\u00e9, le rendement \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique global du syst\u00e8me et, in fine, sa viabilit\u00e9 \u00e9conomique \u00e0 grande \u00e9chelle. <\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"cu-table-content__anchor\" id=\"3\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h2 data-collapsable-block=\"true\" data-collapse-state=\"expanded\" class=\"ql-heading\">HEPIA: A Leading Academic Partner<\/h2>\n<p>The choice of <a data-link-card=\"true\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hesge.ch\/hepia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">HEPIA <\/a>as a research partner is no coincidence. As a member of the HES-SO network, this Geneva-based university college possesses recognized expertise in mechanical engineering, thermodynamics, and energy systems. <a data-link-card=\"true\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hesge.ch\/hepia\/annuaire\/ricardo-lima\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dr. Ricardo Lima<\/a>, who will lead the academic side of the project, brings cutting-edge scientific expertise in the phenomena of expansion and energy recovery, which is perfectly aligned with the project\u2019s technical challenges.  <\/p>\n<p>This collaboration exemplifies the technology transfer model promoted by Innosuisse: bringing together the expertise of Swiss universities with the concrete innovation needs of companies to generate results that are both scientifically rigorous and industrially applicable.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"cu-table-content__anchor\" id=\"4\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h2 data-collapsable-block=\"true\" data-collapse-state=\"expanded\" class=\"ql-heading\">An innovation ecosystem rooted in French-speaking Switzerland<\/h2>\n<p>Receiving this Innovation Grant is part of a broader initiative for WasteOlas, which is expanding its local partnerships:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"ql-rendered-list-container\" data-test=\"rendered-list-container\" data-is-root=\"true\">\n<li data-test=\"rendered-list-item-bullet\" class=\"ql-rendered-bullet-list\">Industrial partnership with Brasserie Docteur Gab&#8217;s (VD) for the field deployment of CCU technology<\/li>\n<li data-test=\"rendered-list-item-bullet\" class=\"ql-rendered-bullet-list\">Cantonal support through the Office for Economic Development and Innovation (SPEI) of the Canton of Vaud<\/li>\n<li data-test=\"rendered-list-item-bullet\" class=\"ql-rendered-bullet-list\">And now, federal funding through Innosuisse and an academic partnership with HEPIA (GE)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This network connecting the cantons of Vaud and Geneva\u2014spanning the brewing industry, cleantech startups, and academic research\u2014is a testament to a vibrant and complementary innovation ecosystem in French-speaking Switzerland.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"cu-table-content__anchor\" id=\"5\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h2 data-collapsable-block=\"true\" data-collapse-state=\"expanded\" class=\"ql-heading\">Upcoming results<\/h2>\n<p>The findings of this feasibility study will be released once the research is complete.
