Valorization of biogenic CO2 from biogas: an inspiring opportunity for the brewing sector<\/h3>\n

In Switzerland, the company CO2 Energie AG<\/a> has implemented in Nesselnbach (Aargau) an innovative solution for capturing and recovering biogenic CO2 produced during the conversion of food waste into biomethane. Thanks to a purification and liquefaction technology developed by Hitachi Zosen INOVA<\/a>, this CO2 is now recovered and made available to various industries, including the brewing sector, where it can be used for carbonating beverages or producing dry ice. The collection and distribution of CO2 is carried out by Messer Schweiz AG<\/a>. <\/div>\n

This approach is fully in line with the transition to a circular and low-carbon economy. By replacing fossil-based CO2 with renewable CO2 from biomass, consumers can reduce their carbon footprint while participating in the local recovery of organic waste. This model, already operational in Nesselnbach, demonstrates the technical and economic feasibility of such a sector, while highlighting the importance of an incentive-based regulatory framework to ensure its sustainability. <\/div>\n
